For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of His highness I could not endure.
For calamity from God is a terror to me, And by reason of his majesty I can do nothing.
“For tragedy from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty and exaltation I can do nothing [nor endure facing Him].
For calamity from God was a terror to me, and because of His majesty I could not endure [to face Him] and could do nothing.
For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.
For disaster from God terrifies me, and because of his majesty I could not do these things.
for God’s calamity is terror to me; I couldn’t endure his splendor.
For calamity from God has always terrified me; before his majesty I could never do a thing [like that].
I could not have been abusive; I was terrified at the thought that God might punish me.
For calamity from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his excellency I was powerless.
For I have always feared God as waves swelling over me, and his weight I was not able to bear.
But I didn’t do any of these bad things. I fear God’s punishment too much. His majesty scares me.
I was afraid of the trouble that God might bring to me. So I could not do these bad things, because God is so great and powerful.
Now doom from God terrifies me, and I cannot endure his majesty.
For I was in terror of calamity from God, and I could not have faced his majesty.
For I was in terror of calamity from God, and I could not have faced his majesty.
I fear ·destruction [calamity] from God, and I fear his ·majesty [ruin], so I could not do such things.
For God’s punishment was fearful unto me, and I could not be delivered from his Highness.
“A disaster from God terrifies me. In the presence of his majesty I can do nothing.
Because I fear God's punishment, I could never do such a thing.
For disaster from God terrifies me, and because of His majesty I could not do these things.
This is because I dread destruction from God. I could not do such things because I fear his majesty.
For I’m terrified of what calamity God may have in store for me; and I cannot endure his grandeur.”
For I feared destruction from God, against whose highness I could have no power.
For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.

For disaster from God is a dread to me, And because of His exaltedness I can do nothing.
Indeed, the disaster from God was a dread for me, and I was powerless because of his majesty.
Rather that than face the judgment sent by God; that I dread more than anything else. For if the majesty of God opposes me, what hope is there?
“If I’ve ever used my strength and influence to take advantage of the unfortunate, Go ahead, break both my arms, cut off all my fingers! The fear of God has kept me from these things— how else could I ever face him?
For destruction from God is a terror to me, and because of His highness I cannot endure.
“A disaster from El terrifies me. In the presence of his majesty I can do nothing.
For I dread calamity from God, and his majesty will overpower me.
For disaster from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty I can do nothing.
“For calamity from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty I can do nothing.
For then the fear of God would overcome me and I would be unable to stand in his presence.
I fear destruction from God, and I fear his majesty, so I could not do such things.
For the calamity from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his majesty I was powerless.
I was afraid God would destroy me. His glory terrifies me. So I’d never do things like that.
For I dreaded destruction from God, and for fear of his splendor I could not do such things.
For I dreaded destruction from God, and for fear of his splendour I could not do such things.
For destruction from God is a terror to me, And because of His magnificence I cannot endure.
For trouble sent by God fills me with fear. Because of His great power I could not do these things.
That would be better than facing God’s judgment. For if the majesty of God opposes me, what hope is there?
For I was in terror of calamity from God, and I could not have faced his majesty.

See, I have always dreaded the kind of disaster wrought by God; I was never able to withstand His majesty.

For ever[more] I dreaded God, as waves waxing great upon me; and I might not bear his burden. (But I have always feared God, like waves growing great upon me; and so I could never do any of these things.)
For a dread unto me [is] calamity [from] God, And because of His excellency I am not able.
