Every man in Israel humbled himself and cried out earnestly to God.
And they cried to the Lord the God of Israel with one accord, that their children might not be made a prey, and their wives carried off, and their cities destroyed, and their holy things profaned, and that they might not be made a reproach to the Gentiles.
The leaders of Israel prayed earnestly to God and fasted.
All the men of Israel cried to God with great fervor and humbled themselves.
At the same time, all the men of Israel cried out to God with great fervor, humbling themselves before him and fasting.
And every man of Israel cried out to God with great fervour, and they humbled themselves with much fasting.
