Don’t attempt to block the plans of the Lord our God. God isn’t like a human being who can be argued with, a person who can be threatened.
And therefore let us humble our souls before him, and continuing in an humble spirit, in his service:
But you must not lay down conditions for the Lord our God! Do you think that he is like one of us? Do you think you can bargain with him or force him to make a decision?
Do not impose conditions on the plans of the Lord our God. God is not like a human being to be moved by threats, nor like a mortal to be cajoled.
It is not your right to impose conditions on the Lord, our God. “God is not like a human being, to be persuaded by threats, or like a mere mortal, to be won over by pleas.
Do not try to bind the purposes of the Lord our God; for God is not like a human being, to be threatened, or like a mere mortal, to be won over by pleading.
