Lamentations 4:9
Print
They that are slain with the sword are better than they that are slain with hunger; for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
They that are slain with the sword are better than they that are slain with hunger; For these pine away, stricken through, for want of the fruits of the field.
Those killed with the sword Are more fortunate than those killed with hunger; For the hungry pine and ebb away, For the lack of the fruits of the field.
Those who are slain with the sword are more fortunate than those who are the victims of hunger [slain by the famine]; for they [the hungry] pine and ebb away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
Those slain by the sword are better off than those slain by hunger, who waste away, pierced with pain because the fields lack produce.
Things were better for those stabbed by the sword than for those stabbed by famine— those who bled away, pierced, lacking food from the field.
Those slain by the sword are better off than those who are dying from hunger; since these waste away as if pierced through, for lack of food from the fields.
Being killed with a sword is better than slowly starving to death.
The slain with the sword are happier than the slain with hunger; for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
Teth. It was better with them that were slain by the sword, than with them that died with hunger: for these pined away being consumed for want of the fruits of the earth.
It was better for those who were killed by the sword than for those who died of hunger. Those starving people were sad and hurt. They died because they got no food from the field.
Our enemies have killed many people with long knives. It is better for those dead people than for the people who have no food. They are very hungry. And they die slowly because they have nothing to eat.
Those cut down by the sword are better off than those cut down by hunger, those who waste away, pierced with pain, with no crops to eat from the field.
Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of hunger, who wasted away, pierced by lack of the fruits of the field.
Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of hunger, who wasted away, pierced by lack of the fruits of the field.
Those who were ·killed [L pierced] ·in the war [L by the sword] were better off than those ·killed [L pierced] by ·hunger [famine]. They ·starve in pain and die [drain/waste away], ·because there is no food from the field [L deprived of the produce of the field; Jer. 11:22; 14:12–18].
They that be slain with the sword, are better than they that are killed with hunger: for they fade away as they were stricken through for the fruits of the field.
Those who were killed with swords are better off than those who are dying from starvation. Those who were stabbed bled to death. The others are dying because there is nothing in the fields to eat.
Those who died in the war were better off than those who died later, who starved slowly to death, with no food to keep them alive.
Those slain by the sword are better off than those slain by hunger, who waste away, pierced with pain because the fields lack produce.
Those people who were killed by the sword had it better than those killed by hunger. They starved in pain and died because there was no food from the field.
Those who die by the sword are better off than those who die from starvation, who slowly waste away like those pierced through for lack of food from the fields.
Those slain with the sword are better than those slain with hunger; for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the earth.
They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
Better are those pierced through with the sword Than those pierced through with hunger; For their life flows away, being stricken For lack of the produce of the field.
Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of famine; they have pined away, very hungry for the crops of my field.
Those killed by the sword are far better off than those who die of slow starvation.
Better to have been killed in battle than killed by starvation. Better to have died of battle wounds than to slowly starve to death.
Those killed by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger, for they pine away, stricken for want of the fruits of the field.
Those who were killed with swords are better off than those who are dying from starvation. Those who were stabbed bled to death. The others are dying because there is nothing in the fields to eat.
Better for those pierced by the sword than for those pierced by hunger, Better for those who bleed from wounds than for those who lack food.
Better off are those killed by the sword Than those killed by hunger; For they waste away, stricken By the lack of the produce of the field.
Better are those slain with the sword Than those slain with hunger; For they pine away, being stricken For lack of the fruits of the field.
More blessed were those who died by the sword than those who died of hunger, with their limbs wasting away, deprived of the produce of the field.
Those who were killed in the war were better off than those killed by hunger. They starve in pain and die, because there is no food from the field.
Those who die by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger, those who waste away, struck down from lack of food.
Those killed by swords are better off than those who die of hunger. Those who are hungry waste away to nothing. They don’t have any food from the fields.
Those killed by the sword are better off than those who die of famine; racked with hunger, they waste away for lack of food from the field.
Those killed by the sword are better off than those who die of famine; racked with hunger, they waste away for lack of food from the field.
Those slain by the sword are better off Than those who die of hunger; For these pine away, Stricken for lack of the fruits of the field.
Those who are killed with the sword are better off than those killed with hunger. For they waste away, suffering because they have no fruits of the field.
Those killed by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger. Starving, they waste away for lack of food from the fields.
Happier were those pierced by the sword than those pierced by hunger, whose life drains away, deprived of the produce of the field.
Happier were those pierced by the sword than those pierced by hunger, whose life drains away, deprived of the produce of the field.
Happier were those pierced by the sword than those pierced by hunger, whose life drains away, deprived of the produce of the field.
Happier were those pierced by the sword than those pierced by hunger, whose life drains away, deprived of the produce of the field.
They that are slain with the cherev are better than they that are slain with hunger; for these pine away, being pierced for want of the increase of the sadeh.
Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of hunger, who pined away, stricken by want of the fruits of the field.
Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of hunger, who pined away, stricken by want of the fruits of the field.
Better are those slain by the sword than those struck down by famine— they waste away, racked with pain, for lack of fruits of the field.
If only they could have died valiantly by the sword— rather than doubled over by famine, This long-drawn agony of hunger, deprived of the yield of the field.
Those who are killed with the sword are better than those who are killed with hunger; For these pine away, stricken through, for lack of the fruits of the field.
It was better to men slain with sword, than to men slain with hunger; for these men waxed rotten, they were wasted of the barrenness of [the] earth. (It was better for those who were killed with the sword, than for those killed by hunger; for these people slowly grew rotten, and they wasted away for the barrenness of the land.)
Better have been the pierced of a sword Than the pierced of famine, For these flow away, pierced through, Without the increase of the field.
