But what went ye out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
But wherefore went ye out? to see a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
But what did you [really] go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one [more eminent, more remarkable, and] far more than a prophet [who foretells the future].
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one [out of the common, more eminent, more remarkable, and] superior to a prophet.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
Nu, so why did you go out? To see a prophet! Yes! and I tell you he’s much more than a prophet.
What did you really go out to see? Was he a prophet? He certainly was. I tell you that he was more than a prophet.
But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet:
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
But what went you out to see? a prophet? yea I tell you, and more than a prophet.
So what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, John is a prophet. But I tell you, he is more than that.
So what did you go to see? Did you go to see a prophet sent by God? Yes! But I tell you, John was even more important than a prophet.
So what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you! And he is much more than a prophet.
What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
So why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, and I tell you, John is more than a prophet.
But what went ye out to see? A Prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and more than a Prophet.
“Really, what did you go to see? A prophet? Let me tell you that he is far more than a prophet.
Tell me, what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes indeed, but you saw much more than a prophet.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet.
So what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, and I tell you, John is more than a prophet.
Really, what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and even more than a prophet!
As John’s disciples were going away Jesus began talking to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the desert to look at? A reed waving in the breeze? No? Then what was it you went out to see?—a man dressed in fine clothes? But the men who wear fine clothes live in the courts of kings! But what did you really go to see—a prophet? Yes, I tell you, a prophet and far more than a prophet! This is the man of whom the scripture says—‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you’.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet.
But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and even more than a prophet!
Or a prophet of God? Yes, and he is more than just a prophet.
When John’s disciples left to report, Jesus started talking to the crowd about John. “What did you expect when you went out to see him in the wild? A weekend camper? Hardly. What then? A sheik in silk pajamas? Not in the wilderness, not by a long shot. What then? A prophet? That’s right, a prophet! Probably the best prophet you’ll ever hear. He is the prophet that Malachi announced when he wrote, ‘I’m sending my prophet ahead of you, to make the road smooth for you.’
Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
“Really, what did you go to see? A prophet? Let me tell you that he is far more than a prophet.
Then why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet.
What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet.
So why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, and I tell you, John is more than a prophet.
What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet!
Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
What did you go out to see? One who speaks for God? Yes, I tell you, he is more than one who speaks for God.
Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet.
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
What, then, did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
All right, so what were you expecting to see? A prophet? Ah, now we’re getting there: yes indeed, and much more than a prophet!
But what did you go out to see? A Navi? Ken, I tell you. And one greater than a Navi.
“But what did you go out to see - a Prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a Prophet.
Why then did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
Why then did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, even more than a prophet.
So what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes. Yes, a prophet and more than a prophet.
But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
Why did you go out? To see a prophet of God? Yes, I tell you, and he is much more than a prophet.
But what thing went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
`But what went ye out to see? -- a prophet? yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet,
