Matthew 23:5

But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
But all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
They do all their deeds to be seen by men; for they make their phylacteries (tefillin) wide [to make them more conspicuous] and make their tassels long.
They do all their works to be seen of men; for they make wide their phylacteries (small cases enclosing certain Scripture passages, worn during prayer on the left arm and forehead) and make long their fringes [worn by all male Israelites, according to the command].
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
They do everything to be seen by others: They enlarge their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
Everything they do, they do to be noticed by others. They make extra-wide prayer bands for their arms and long tassels for their clothes.
Everything they do is done to be seen by others; for they make their t’fillin broad and their tzitziyot long,
Everything they do is just to show off in front of others. They even make a big show of wearing Scripture verses on their foreheads and arms, and they wear big tassels for everyone to see.
And all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders [of their garments],
And they do all their works so-as to be seen by people. For they widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
And all their works they do for to be seen of men. For they make their phylacteries broad, and enlarge their fringes.
“The only reason they do what they do is for other people to see them. They make the little Scripture boxes they wear bigger and bigger. And they make the tassels on their prayer clothes long enough for people to notice them.
The Pharisees do things only so that people will see them. They wear little boxes with words from the Bible in them, but they make them really big. They also make the tassels on their clothes very long.
They do all their works to be seen by people. They make their phylacteries wide and lengthen the fringes of their garments.
They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long,
They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long,
“They do good things so that other people will see them. They enlarge ·the little boxes holding Scriptures that they wear [L their phylacteries; C leather cases worn on the left arm and forehead to literally fulfill Deut. 6:8; 11:18], and they ·make their special prayer clothes very long [L lengthen their tassels; C Jewish males were to wear tassels on the four corners of their garment; Num. 15:38; Deut. 22:12].
All their works they do for to be seen of men: for they make their phylacteries broad, and make long the fringes of their garments,
“They do everything to attract people’s attention. They make their headbands large and the tassels on their shawls long.
They do everything so that people will see them. Look at the straps with scripture verses on them which they wear on their foreheads and arms, and notice how large they are! Notice also how long are the tassels on their cloaks!
They do everything to be observed by others: They enlarge their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
“The reason they do good things is so other people will see them. They make the boxes of Scriptures that they wear bigger and bigger. And they make their special prayer clothes very long so that people will notice them.
“They do everything to be seen by people. They increase the size of their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.
Then Jesus addressed the crowds and his disciples. “The scribes and the Pharisees speak with the authority of Moses,” he told them, “so you must do what they tell you and follow their instructions. But you must not imitate their lives! For they preach but do not practise. They pile up back-breaking burdens and lay them on other men’s shoulders—yet they themselves will not raise a finger to move them. Their whole lives are planned with an eye to effect. They increase the size of their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their robes; they love seats of honour at dinner parties and front places in the synagogues. They love to be greeted with respect in public places and to have men call them ‘rabbi!’ Don’t you ever be called ‘rabbi’—you have only one teacher, and all of you are brothers. And don’t call any human being ‘father’—for you have one Father and he is in Heaven. And you must not let people call you ‘leaders’—you have only one leader, Christ! The only ‘superior’ among you is the one who serves the others. For every man who promotes himself will be humbled, and every man who learns to be humble will find promotion.
But they do all their works that they may be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders of their garments
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.
And they do all their deeds in order to be seen by people, for they make their phylacteries broad and make their tassels long.
“Everything they do is done for show. They act holy by wearing on their arms little prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and by lengthening the memorial fringes of their robes.
“Instead of giving you God’s Law as food and drink by which you can banquet on God, they package it in bundles of rules, loading you down like pack animals. They seem to take pleasure in watching you stagger under these loads, and wouldn’t think of lifting a finger to help. Their lives are perpetual fashion shows, embroidered prayer shawls one day and flowery prayers the next. They love to sit at the head table at church dinners, basking in the most prominent positions, preening in the radiance of public flattery, receiving honorary degrees, and getting called ‘Doctor’ and ‘Reverend.’
“They do all their works to be seen by men. They make their Scripture boxes broad and lengthen the tassels on their prayer shawls.
They do all · · their deeds to · be seen by others: they make · their phylacteries broad and their tassels long,
“They do everything to attract people’s attention. They make their headbands large and the tassels on their shawls long.
All their works are performed to be seen. They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
And they do all their deeds to be noticed by other people; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.
But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.
“Everything they do is meant to attract the attention of others. They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
“They do good things so that other people will see them. They enlarge the little boxes holding Scriptures that they wear, and they make their special prayer clothes very long.
They do all their deeds to be seen by people, for they make their phylacteries wide and their tassels long.
“Everything they do is done for others to see. On their foreheads and arms they wear little boxes that hold Scripture verses. They make the boxes very wide. And they make the tassels on their coats very long.
“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long;
‘Everything they do is done for people to see: they make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long;
But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.
Everything they do, they do to be seen of men. They have words from the Holy Writings written in large letters on their left arm and forehead and they make wide trimming for their clothes.
“Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and they wear robes with extra long tassels.
All their works they do to be seen by men. They enlarge their phylacteries, and make large borders on their garments.
They do all their deeds to be seen by others; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long.
They do all their deeds to be seen by others; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long.
They do all their deeds to be seen by others; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long.
They do all their deeds to be seen by others, for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long.
“Everything they do is for show, to be seen by people. Yes, they make their prayer-boxes large and their prayer-tassels long,
And all their maasim hamitzvot (works of the commandments) they do in order to be seen by Bnei Adam, for they broaden their tefillin and lengthen their tzitziyot
“They do all their works to be seen by man. For they make their phylacteries broad, and the fringes of their garments long.
They do all their deeds to be seen by men; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long,
They do all their deeds to be seen by men; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long,
All their works they do to be noticed by men. They make their tefillin wide and their tzitziyot long.
They are interested, above all, in presentation: they wrap their heads and arms in the accoutrements of prayer, they cloak themselves with flowing tasseled prayer garments,
But they do all their works to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the fringes of their garments,
They do all their work to be seen by people. They wear bigger and bigger boxes with God's word in. And they make wider and wider borders on their gowns.
Therefore [Forsooth] they do all their works to be seen of men; for they draw abroad their phylacteries, and magnify [their] hems.
`And all their works they do to be seen by men, and they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the fringes of their garments,
