“Why do Your disciples violate the tradition (religious laws) handed down by the [Jewish] elders? For Your disciples do not [ceremonially] wash their hands before they eat.”
Why do Your disciples transgress and violate the rules handed down by the elders of the past? For they do not practice [ceremonially] washing their hands before they eat.
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
“Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat.”
“Why are your disciples breaking the elders’ rules handed down to us? They don’t ritually purify their hands by washing before they eat.”
“Why is it that your talmidim break the Tradition of the Elders? They don’t do n’tilat-yadayim before they eat!”
“Why don't your disciples obey what our ancestors taught us to do? They don't even wash their hands before they eat.”
Why do thy disciples transgress what has been delivered by the ancients? for they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.

They said, ‘Our leaders in past times taught us the right way to do everything. But your disciples do not obey the things that our leaders taught us. They do not wash their hands in the right way before they eat a meal. Why is that?’

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees from Jerusalem came and asked Jesus, “Why do your disciples break our ancient tradition and eat their food without washing their hands properly?”

After that, Pharisees and religion scholars came to Jesus all the way from Jerusalem, criticizing, “Why do your disciples play fast and loose with the rules?”
“Why do Your disciples violate the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”

Why do your talmidim transgress the Masoret HaZekenim (the Tradition of the Elders)? For they do not do the netilat yadayim before meals.

Scribes and Pharisees: The law of Moses has always held that one must ritually wash his hands before eating. Why don’t Your disciples observe this tradition?
“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”
They asked him, `Why do your disciples break the law our fathers made? They do not wash their hands before they eat.'
Why break thy disciples the traditions of elder men [Why thy disciples break the traditions, either the teachings, of elder men]? for they wash not their hands, when they eat bread.
`Wherefore do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they do not wash their hands when they may eat bread.'
