And the people chided Moses and spoke, saying, “Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the Lord!

The people contended with Moses, and said, “If only we had perished when our brothers perished [in the plague] before the Lord!

and complained, “Moses, we'd be better off if we had died along with the others in front of the Lord's sacred tent.
And the people contended with Moses, and spoke, saying, Would that we had died when our brethren died before Jehovah!
And making a sedition, they said: Would God we had perished among our brethren before the Lord.
The people argued with Moses and said, “Maybe we should have died in front of the Lord like our brothers did.
They said to Moses, ‘We would rather be dead! When the Lord killed our brothers, he should have killed us too.
The people quarreled with Moses and said, “If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!
And the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Would that we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!
And the people quarrelled with Moses and said, “Would that we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!
They ·argued with [contended with; brought a case against] Moses and said, “We should have died in front of the Lord as our brothers did.

The people complained to Moses and said, “If only we had died when the other Israelites died in the Lord’s presence!
and complained: “It would have been better if we had died in front of the Lord's Tent along with the other Israelites.
The people quarreled with Moses and said, “If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord.
They argued with Moses. They said, “We should have died in front of the Lord as our brothers did.
As the people argued with Moses, they told him, “We wish that we had died when our relatives died in the Lord’s presence!
And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying, Oh, that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!
And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the Lord!
And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the Lord!
The people thus contended with Moses and spoke, saying, “If only we had breathed our last when our brothers breathed their last before Yahweh!
And the people quarreled with Moses and spoke, saying, “If only we died when our brothers were dying before Yahweh!
and they held a protest meeting. “Would that we too had died with our dear brothers the Lord killed!” they shouted at Moses.
There was no water there for the community, so they ganged up on Moses and Aaron. They attacked Moses: “We wish we’d died when the rest of our brothers died before God. Why did you haul this congregation of God out here into this wilderness to die, people and cattle alike? And why did you take us out of Egypt in the first place, dragging us into this miserable country? No grain, no figs, no grapevines, no pomegranates—and now not even any water!”
The people argued with Moses, and spoke, saying, “O that we had died when our brothers died before the Lord!
The people complained to Moses and said, “If only we had died when the other Israelites died in Yahweh’s presence!
The people quarreled with Moses, exclaiming, “Would that we had perished when our kindred perished before the Lord!

and they were turned into dissension, that is, rebelty and striving (that is, rebellion and strife), and said, We would that we had perished among our brethren before the Lord.
and the people strive with Moses, and speak, saying, `And oh that we had expired when our brethren expired before Jehovah!
