There is one that scattereth and yet prospereth; and there is another that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
There is that scattereth, and increaseth yet more; And there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth only to want.
There is the one who [generously] scatters [abroad], and yet increases all the more; And there is the one who withholds what is justly due, but it results only in want and poverty.
There are those who [generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more than is fitting or what is justly due, but it results only in want.
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
One person gives freely, yet gains more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor.
Those who give generously receive more, but those who are stingy with what is appropriate will grow needy.
Some give freely and still get richer, while others are stingy but grow still poorer.
Sometimes you can become rich by being generous or poor by being greedy.
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is right, but [it tendeth] only to want.
Some distribute their own goods, and grow richer: others take away what is not their own, and are always in want.
Some people give freely and gain more; others refuse to give and end up with less.
Somebody may share his things with other people, but he still becomes richer. Somebody else may keep the things that he should give to others, but he still becomes poor.
One person scatters his wealth, but it still increases. Another hoards it unjustly, but this leads only to poverty.
One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
