Whosoever would hide her would hide the wind, and the ointment of his right hand which betrayeth itself.
He that would restrain her restraineth the wind; And his right hand encountereth oil.
Whoever attempts to restrain her [criticism] might as well try to stop the wind, And grasps oil with his right hand.
Whoever attempts to restrain [a contentious woman] might as well try to stop the wind—his right hand encounters oil [and she slips through his fingers].
Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.
the one who controls her controls the wind and grasps oil with his right hand.
anyone who can control her can control the wind or pick up oil in his hand.
whoever can restrain her can restrain the wind or keep perfume on his hand from making itself known.
It's easier to catch the wind or hold olive oil in your hand than to stop a nagging wife.
whosoever will restrain her restraineth the wind, and his right hand encountereth oil.
He that retaineth her, is as he that would hold the wind, and shall call in the oil of his right hand.
Stopping her is like trying to stop the wind or trying to hold oil in your hand.
Can you catch the wind? Can you hold oil in your hand? No! And you cannot keep that woman quiet.
Trying to hold her back is like holding back the wind, like grasping oil with your right hand.

How can you keep her quiet? Have you ever tried to stop the wind or ever tried to hold a handful of oil?
The one who controls her controls the wind and grasps oil with his right hand.
Stopping her is like stopping the wind. It’s like trying to grab oil in your hand.
Trying to keep her in check is like stopping a wind storm or grabbing oil with your right hand.
Whosoever hides her hides the wind, because the oil in his right hand cries out.

A nagging spouse is like the drip, drip, drip of a leaky faucet; You can’t turn it off, and you can’t get away from it.
