It isn’t good to punish the righteous, to strike the honorable for their integrity.
To punish the innocent is not right, likewise to flog noble people for their uprightness.
It isn't fair to punish the innocent and those who do right.
To punish a righteous [man] is not good, nor to strike nobles because of [their] uprightness.
It is no good thing to do hurt to the just: nor to strike the prince, who judgeth right.
It is wrong to punish an innocent person or attack leaders for doing what is right.
It is not right to punish a person who has done nothing wrong. It is wrong to beat honest people with sticks.
It is not good to impose a fine on a righteous person nor to flog officials because of their uprightness.
To impose a fine on a righteous man is not good, nor to strike the noble for their uprightness.

It is not good to punish the ·innocent [righteous] or to beat leaders for being honest.
Surely it is not good to condemn the just, nor that the princes should smite such for equity.

It is not right to make an innocent person pay a fine; justice is perverted when good people are punished.
It is certainly not good to fine an innocent person or to beat a noble for his honesty.
It is not good to punish those who have done what is right. Nor is it good to punish leaders for being honest.
Furthermore, it isn’t good to fine the righteous, or to beat an official because of his uprightness.

How shortsighted to fine the godly for being good! And to punish nobles for being honest!
It’s wrong to penalize good behavior, or make good citizens pay for the crimes of others.
Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for their uprightness.
To punish an innocent person is not good. To strike down noble people is not right.
It is wrong to fine an innocent person, but beyond reason to scourge nobles.
It is also not good to fine the righteous, Nor to strike the noble for their uprightness.
