“As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

Those who are fencing me in raise their heads; may the mischief of their own lips and the very things they desire for me come upon them.

When those who surround me rise up, may the trouble their lips cause overwhelm them.
Let the heads of the people surrounding me be covered with the trouble their own lips caused!
Adonai, don’t grant the wicked their wishes; make their plot fail, so they won’t grow proud. (Selah)
They have me surrounded, but make them the victims of their own vicious lies.
[As for] the head of those that encompass me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
Keep me from the snare, which they have laid for me, and from the stumblingblocks of them that work iniquity.
My enemies are planning trouble for me. Lord, make that trouble fall on them.
Give trouble to the people who come round me to attack! Let the bad things that they say against me happen to them instead!
May the trouble caused by their lips fall on the heads of those who surround me.

Let the heads of those who surround me be covered with their own threats.
Don't let my enemies be victorious; make their threats against me fall back on them.
When those who surround me rise up, may the trouble their lips cause overwhelm them.
Those around me have planned trouble. Now let it come to them.
May those who surround me discover that the trouble they talk about falls on their own head!

With respect to the head of those who surround me, may the harm of their lips cover them.
Let their plots boomerang! Let them be destroyed by the very evil they have planned for me.
These troublemakers all around me— let them drown in their own verbal poison. Let God pile hellfire on them, let him bury them alive in crevasses! These loudmouths— don’t let them be taken seriously; These savages— let the Devil hunt them down!
