Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.
As when one ploweth and cleaveth the earth, Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
As when the one plows and breaks open the ground [and the soil scatters behind him], Our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol [by the injustices of the wicked].
The unburied bones [of slaughtered rulers] shall lie scattered at the mouth of Sheol, [as unregarded] as the lumps of soil behind the plowman when he breaks open the ground.

It will be like a farmer who ploughs his field, and breaks the earth into pieces. Just like that, they will break the bones of wicked people. They will throw their bones on the ground at the entrance to Sheol.
They will say, “As one splits and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.”

Our bones lie scattered at the grave’s mouth, as he that heweth wood or diggeth in the earth.
As someone plows and breaks up the ground, so our bones will be planted at the mouth of the grave.
Like wood that is split and chopped into bits, so their bones are scattered at the edge of the grave.
As when one plows and breaks up the soil, turning up rocks, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

Just as one plows and breaks up the earth, our bones are scattered near the entrance to the place of the dead.

And these people who only do wrong— don’t let them lure me with their sweet talk! May the Just One set me straight, may the Kind One correct me, Don’t let sin anoint my head. I’m praying hard against their evil ways! Oh, let their leaders be pushed off a high rock cliff; make them face the music. Like a rock pulverized by a maul, let their bones be scattered at the gates of hell.
As when one plows to break up the land, so our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

Our bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave, As when one plows and breaks up the earth.
Our bones have been spread around the mouth of the grave like the broken ground behind the plow.
Like rocks brought up by a plow, the bones of the wicked will lie scattered without burial.

As fatness is broken out on the earth; our bones be scattered nigh hell. (As wood chopped into pieces lieth on the ground; so their bones shall be scattered nigh to Sheol/close to the grave.)
As one tilling and ripping up in the land, Have our bones been scattered at the command of Saul.
