A Psalm of David. A skillful song, or a didactic or reflective poem. Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, favored by God] is he whose transgression is forgiven, And whose sin is covered.
Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is he who has forgiveness of his transgression continually exercised upon him, whose sin is covered.

Of David. A Maskil. How joyful is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered!
The one whose wrongdoing is forgiven, whose sin is covered over, is truly happy!
By David. A maskil: How blessed are those whose offense is forgiven, those whose sin is covered!
(A special psalm by David.) Our Lord, you bless everyone whose sins you forgive and wipe away.
Of David. Instruction. Blessed is he [whose] transgression is forgiven, [whose] sin is covered!
A psalm for David. Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just: praise becometh the upright.
A maskil of David. It is a great blessing when people are forgiven for the wrongs they have done, when their sins are erased.
This is a special song that David wrote. When God has forgiven someone's sins, they are truly happy! They may have turned against God, but when God forgives them, they are happy.
By David. A maskil. How blessed is the person whose rebellion is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

1 David punished with grievous sickness for his sins, counteth them blessed to whom God doth not impute their transgressions. 5 And after that he had confessed his sins, and obtained pardon, 6 he exhorteth the wicked men to live godly, 11 and the good to rejoice. What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven! What joys when sins are covered over! What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record.
Count yourself lucky, how happy you must be— you get a fresh start, your slate’s wiped clean.
