Why leap ye, ye high hills? This is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the Lord will dwell in it for ever.
Why look ye askance, ye high mountains, At the mountain which God hath desired for his abode? Yea, Jehovah will dwell in it for ever.
Why do you look with envy, mountains with many peaks, At the mountain [of the city of Zion] which God has desired for His dwelling place? Yes, the Lord will dwell there forever.
Why do you look with grudging and envy, you many-peaked mountains, at the mountain [of the city called Zion] which God has desired for His dwelling place? Yes, the Lord will dwell in it forever.

Why gaze with envy, you mountain peaks, at the mountain God desired for his abode? The Lord will dwell there forever!
You many-peaked mountain: Why do you look with envy at the mountain God desired for his dwelling, the mountain where the Lord dwells forever?
You mighty mountain, Mount Bashan! You rugged mountain, Mount Bashan!
Why is it jealous of Zion, the mountain you chose as your home forever?
Why do ye look with envy, ye many-peaked mountains, upon the mount that God hath desired for his abode? yea, Jehovah will dwell [there] for ever.
Let not the tempest of water drown me, nor the deep swallow me up: and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
But, Bashan, why are you jealous of Mount Zion? That is where God has chosen to live. The Lord will live there forever.
You high mountains, why are you jealous when you look at Zion mountain? That is the mountain where God has chosen to live. Yes, that is where the Lord will live for ever!
O mountains with many peaks, why do you look jealously at the mountain God desires for his home? Indeed, the Lord will dwell there forever.
Why do you look with hatred, O many-peaked mountain, at the mount that God desired for his abode, yes, where the Lord will dwell forever?

Why do you mountains with many peaks look down on Mount Zion, which God chose for his home? The Lord will live there forever.
You mountains of many peaks, why do you watch with envy the mountain in which God has chosen to dwell? Indeed, the Lord will live there forever.

O mighty mountains in Bashan! O splendid many-peaked ranges! Well may you look with envy at Mount Zion, the mount where God has chosen to live forever.
You huge mountains, Bashan mountains, mighty mountains, dragon mountains. All you mountains not chosen, sulk now, and feel sorry for yourselves, For this is the mountain God has chosen to live on; he’ll rule from this mountain forever.
Why are you envious, you mountains of many peaks? This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in; yes, the Lord will dwell in it forever.
Why do you look with envy, you mountains with many peaks, at the mountain where Elohim has chosen to live? Certainly, Yahweh will live there forever.
You mountain of God, mountain of Bashan, you rugged mountain, mountain of Bashan,

The mountains of Bashan are God’s mountains; the mountains of Bashan are mighty peaks.

Why are you jealous of Mount Zion, you rocky mountain? That’s where God chooses to rule. That’s where the Lord himself will live forever.

Why are you so jealous, O mountain of many peaks, when you look at the mountain the True God has chosen as His dwelling place? The Eternal will surely abide on Mount Zion forever.
Why do you look in envy, you rugged mountains, at the mountain where God chooses to reign? Yes, Yahweh will dwell there forever.
whereto believe ye falsely, (ye) crudded hills? The hill in which it pleaseth well God to dwell therein; for the Lord shall dwell (there) into the end. (But why, ye curdled hills, gaze ye with envy at the hill where it well pleaseth God to live? for the Lord shall live there forever!)
