Psalm 88:18
Lover and friend hast Thou put far from me, and mine acquaintances into darkness.

Lover and friend You have placed far from me; My familiar friends are in darkness.
Lover and friend have You put far from me; my familiar friends are darkness and the grave.
Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.
You have distanced loved one and neighbor from me; darkness is my only friend.
You’ve made my loved ones and companions distant. My only friend is darkness.
They surge around me all day like a flood, from all sides they close in on me.
My friends and neighbors have turned against me because of you, and now darkness is my only companion.
Lover and associate hast thou put far from me: my familiar friends are darkness.
For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy good pleasure shall our horn be exalted.
You caused my friends and loved ones to leave me. Now darkness is my closest friend.
You cause my friends and my neighbours to stay away from me. All that I have near to me is darkness.
You have distanced my loved one and friend from me. My only friend is darkness.
You have caused my beloved and my friend to shun me; my companions have become darkness.
You have caused my beloved and my friend to shun me; my companions have become darkness.
You have ·taken away [removed me from] my loved ones and friends. Darkness is my only friend.
My lovers and friends hast thou put away from me, and mine acquaintance hid themselves.
You have taken my loved ones and friends far away from me. Darkness is my only friend!
You have made even my closest friends abandon me, and darkness is my only companion.
You have distanced loved one and neighbor from me; darkness is my only friend.

Lover, friend, acquaintance—all are gone. There is only darkness everywhere.
I’m standing my ground, God, shouting for help, at my prayers every morning, on my knees each daybreak. Why, God, do you turn a deaf ear? Why do you make yourself scarce? For as long as I remember I’ve been hurting; I’ve taken the worst you can hand out, and I’ve had it. Your wildfire anger has blazed through my life; I’m bleeding, black-and-blue. You’ve attacked me fiercely from every side, raining down blows till I’m nearly dead. You made lover and neighbor alike dump me; the only friend I have left is Darkness.
You have caused to be far from me my lovers and friends, and my companion is darkness.
You have taken my loved ones and friends far away from me. Darkness is my only friend!
All day they surge round like a flood; from every side they encircle me.

All day long they surround me like a flood; they encircle me completely.
You have taken away my loved ones and friends. Darkness is my only friend.
You cause my friends and neighbors to keep their distance; those who know me leave me alone in the darkness.

You have taken from me the one I love and my friend; even the light of my acquaintances are darkness.

Thou madest far from me a friend and neighbour; and my known from wretchedness. (Thou hast taken my friends and my neighbours far away from me; and now wretchedness is my only companion.)
Thou hast put far from me lover and friend, Mine acquaintance [is] the place of darkness!
