“Now then, my children, see what giving to the poor does and what injustice does. It kills! Now—my life is departing.” And they laid him down on the bed. He died and was buried honorably.
And command your children that they do justice and almsdeeds, and that they be mindful of God, and bless him at all times in truth, and with all their power.
So now, my children, you see what happens to those who show their concern for others, and how death awaits those who treat others unjustly. But now I am very weak. Then they laid Tobit on his bed. He died and was given an honorable burial.
So, my children, see what almsgiving does, and also what wickedness does—it kills! But now my spirit is about to leave me.” They laid him on his bed, and he died; and he was buried with honor.
So, my children, you can see what almsgiving accomplishes, as well as what wickedness does—it leads to death. But now my breath fails me.”
So now, my children, see what almsgiving accomplishes, and what injustice does—it brings death! But now my breath fails me.’ Then they laid him on his bed, and he died; and he received an honourable funeral.
