Meshach [Mē’shach]—agile or expeditious. The name given to Mishael, one of David’s friends, by the chief of Nebuchadnezzar’s eunuchs (Dan. 1:7; 2:49; 3). With his other two companions he defied the edict of the king and was miraculously delivered from the fiery furnace.
