Prophecy against Edom
7 Concerning (A)Edom.
Thus says the Lord of hosts,
“Is there no longer any (B)wisdom in (C)Teman?
Has good counsel been lost to the prudent?
Has their wisdom decayed?
Zephaniah 2:8-10
New American Standard Bible 1995
8 “I have heard the [a](A)taunting of Moab
And the (B)revilings of the sons of Ammon,
With which they have [b]taunted My people
And [c](C)become arrogant against their territory.
9 “Therefore, as I live,” declares the Lord of hosts,
The God of Israel,
“Surely (D)Moab will be like (E)Sodom
And the sons of (F)Ammon like (G)Gomorrah—
A place possessed by nettles and salt pits,
And a perpetual desolation.
The remnant of My people will (H)plunder them
And the remainder of My nation will inherit them.”
10 This they will have in return for their (I)pride, because they have [d](J)taunted and [e]become arrogant against the people of the Lord of hosts.
