²⁷ But ^(A)Barnabas took hold of him and brought him to the apostles and described to them how he had ^(B)seen the Lord on the road, and that He had talked to him, and how ^(C)at Damascus he had ^(D)spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus.

²² The ^[a]news about them ^[b]reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent ^(A)Barnabas off ^[c]to ^(B)Antioch.

^30 (A)And this they did, sending it ^[a]in charge of ^(B)Barnabas and Saul to the ^(C)elders.

²⁵ And ^(A)Barnabas and ^(B)Saul returned ^[a]from Jerusalem ^(C)when they had fulfilled their ^[b]mission, taking along with them ^(D)John, who was also called Mark.

First Missionary Journey

13 Now there were at ^(A)Antioch, in the ^(B)church that was there, ^(C)prophets and ^(D)teachers: ^(E)Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of ^(F)Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with ^(G)Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. ² While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, ^(H)the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me ^(I)Barnabas and Saul for ^(J)the work to which I have called them.”

⁷ who was with the ^(A)proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God.

The Council at Jerusalem

2 Then after an interval of fourteen years I ^(A)went up again to Jerusalem with ^(B)Barnabas, taking ^(C)Titus along also.

⁹ and recognizing ^(A)the grace that had been given to me, ^[a](B)James and ^(C)Cephas and John, who were ^(D)reputed to be ^(E)pillars, gave to me and ^(F)Barnabas the ^(G)right ^[b]hand of fellowship, so that we might ^(H)go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
