7 It is for discipline that you endure; (C)God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, (D)of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

New International Version
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,(A)
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a](B)
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.(C) For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline(D)—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.
