7 Ate Mukama n’andaga okwolesebwa okulala. Ne ndaba Mukama ng’ayimiridde ku bbugwe azimbiddwa obulungi nga yatereera era nga Mukama akutte bbirigi mu mukono gwe. 8 (A)Mukama n’ambuuza nti, “Amosi, kiki ky’olaba?”

Ne nziramu nti, “Ndaba bbirigi.”

Mukama n’alyoka aŋŋamba nti, “Laba nteese bbirigi wakati mu bantu bange Isirayiri. Sijja kuddayo kukyusa kirowoozo kyange nate ku ky’okubabonereza.

9 (B)“Ebifo ebigulumivu ebya Isaaka birizikirizibwa,
    n’ebifo bya Isirayiri ebitukuvu birifuuka matongo.
    N’ennyumba ya Yerobowaamu ndigirwanyisa n’ekitala.”

New International Version

7 This is what he showed me: The Lord was standing by a wall that had been built true to plumb,[a] with a plumb line[b] in his hand. 8 And the Lord asked me, “What do you see,(A) Amos?(B)”

“A plumb line,(C)” I replied.

Then the Lord said, “Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.(D)

9 “The high places(E) of Isaac will be destroyed
    and the sanctuaries(F) of Israel will be ruined;
    with my sword I will rise against the house of Jeroboam.(G)”
