^4 (A)Then the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many; bring them down to the water and I will test them for you there. Therefore it shall be that he of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go with you; but everyone of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”

⁷ The Lord said to Gideon, “I will deliver you ^(A)with the 300 men who lapped and will give the Midianites into your hands; so let all the other people go, each man to his ^[a]home.”

⁴⁶ This day the Lord will deliver you up into my hands, and I will strike you down and remove your head from you. And I will give the ^(A)dead bodies of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky and the wild beasts of the earth, ^(B)that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, ⁴⁷ and that all this assembly may know that ^(C)the Lord does not deliver by sword or by spear; ^(D)for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hands.”

⁶ Then he ^[a]said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to ^(A)Zerubbabel saying, ‘^(B)Not by might nor by power, but by My ^(C)Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.

²⁶ And looking at them Jesus said to them, “^(A)With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
