⁴ Do not turn to ^(A)idols or make for yourselves molten ^(B)gods; I am the Lord your God.

Blessings of Obedience

26 ‘You shall not make for yourselves ^[a](A)idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves ^(B)an image or ^(C)a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a ^(D)figured stone in your land to bow down ^[b]to it; for I am the Lord your God.

¹⁵ “So ^(A)watch yourselves carefully, since you did not see any ^(B)form on the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb from the midst of the fire, ¹⁶ so that you do not ^(C)act corruptly and ^(D)make a graven image for yourselves in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, ¹⁷ the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of ^(E)any winged bird that flies in the sky, ¹⁸ the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water below the earth. ¹⁹ And beware not to lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, ^(F)all the host of heaven, ^(G)and be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.

¹⁵ ‘Cursed is the man who makes ^[a](A)an idol or a molten image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ And ^(B)all the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’
