^22 (A)You will be hated by all because of My name, but ^(B)it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

³ For ^(A)consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary ^[a](B)and lose heart.

⁵ and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,

Exhortation

⁷ Therefore be patient, ^(A)brethren, ^(B)until the coming of the Lord. ^(C)The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until ^[a]it gets ^(D)the early and late rains. ^8 (E)You too be patient; ^(F)strengthen your hearts, for ^(G)the coming of the Lord is ^(H)near. ^9 (I)Do not ^[b]complain, ^(J)brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, ^(K)the Judge is standing ^[c](L)right at the ^[d]door. ¹⁰ As an example, ^(M)brethren, of suffering and patience, take ^(N)the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. ¹¹ We count those ^(O)blessed who endured. You have heard of ^(P)the ^[e]endurance of Job and have seen ^(Q)the ^[f]outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that ^(R)the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

¹² But above all, ^(S)my brethren, ^(T)do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but ^[g]your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall under judgment.

¹³ Is anyone among you ^(U)suffering? ^(V)Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to ^(W)sing praises. ¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for ^(X)the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, ^[h](Y)anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; ¹⁵ and the ^(Z)prayer ^[i]offered in faith will ^[j](AA)restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will ^(AB)raise him up, and if he has committed sins, ^[k]they will be forgiven him. ¹⁶ Therefore, ^(AC)confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be ^(AD)healed. ^(AE)The effective ^[l]prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. ¹⁷ Elijah was ^(AF)a man with a nature like ours, and ^(AG)he prayed ^[m]earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for ^(AH)three years and six months. ¹⁸ Then he ^(AI)prayed again, and ^(AJ)the ^[n]sky ^[o]poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.

¹⁹ My brethren, ^(AK)if any among you strays from ^(AL)the truth and one turns him back, ²⁰ let him know that ^[p]he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will ^(AM)save his soul from death and will ^(AN)cover a multitude of sins.
