²³ And you, ^(A)Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be ^(B)brought down to ^(C)Hades! For if the ^[a]miracles that occurred in you had occurred in ^(D)Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

^21 (A)They *went into Capernaum; and immediately on the Sabbath Jesus ^(B)entered the synagogue and began to teach.

The Paralyzed Man Healed

2 When Jesus came back to Capernaum a few days later, it was heard that He was at home.

²³ And He said to them, “No doubt you will ^[a]quote this proverb to Me: ‘Physician, heal yourself! All the miracles that we heard were done ^(A)in Capernaum, do here in ^(B)your hometown as well.’”

³¹ And ^(A)He came down to ^(B)Capernaum, a city of Galilee; and He was teaching them on the Sabbath;

¹² After this He went down to ^(A)Capernaum, He and His ^(B)mother, and His ^(C)brothers and His ^(D)disciples; and they stayed there a few days.

Healing an Official’s Son

⁴⁶ Therefore He came again to ^(A)Cana of Galilee, ^(B)where He had made the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son was sick at ^(C)Capernaum. ⁴⁷ When he heard that Jesus had come ^(D)from Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and began asking Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death. ⁴⁸ Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see ^[a](E)signs and ^(F)wonders, you simply will not believe.” ⁴⁹ The royal official *said to Him, “^[b]Sir, come down before my child dies.” ⁵⁰ Jesus *said to him, “^(G)Go; your son ^[c]is alive.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went home. ⁵¹ And as he was now going down, his slaves met him, saying that his ^[d]son was ^[e]alive. ⁵² So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him, “Yesterday at the ^[f]seventh hour the fever left him.” ⁵³ So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son is alive”; and he himself believed, and ^(H)his entire household. ⁵⁴ This is again a ^(I)second ^[g]sign that Jesus performed when He had ^(J)come from Judea into Galilee.
