⁴ Their ^(A)idols are silver and gold,
The ^(B)work of man’s hands.
⁵ They have mouths, but they ^(C)cannot speak;
They have eyes, but they cannot see;
⁶ They have ears, but they cannot hear;
They have noses, but they cannot smell;
^7 [a]They have hands, but they cannot feel;
^[b]They have feet, but they cannot walk;
They cannot make a sound with their throat.
^8 (D)Those who make them ^[c]will become like them,
Everyone who trusts in them.

^4 (A)They have set up kings, but not by Me;
They have appointed princes, but I did not know it.
With their ^(B)silver and gold they have made idols for themselves,
That ^[a]they might be cut off.
^5 [b]He has rejected your ^(C)calf, O Samaria, saying,
“My anger burns against them!”
How long will they be incapable of ^(D)innocence?
⁶ For from Israel is even this!
A ^(E)craftsman made it, so it is not God;
Surely the calf of Samaria will be broken to ^[c]pieces.
