2 Why are ^(A)the ^[a]nations in an uproar
And the peoples ^(B)devising a vain thing?
² The ^(C)kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
^(D)Against the Lord and against His ^[b](E)Anointed, saying,

² Your tongue devises ^(A)destruction,
Like a ^(B)sharp razor, ^(C)O worker of deceit.

30 “Woe to the ^(A)rebellious children,” declares the Lord,
“Who ^(B)execute a plan, but not Mine,
And ^[a](C)make an alliance, but not of My Spirit,
In order to add sin to sin;

2 Woe to those who ^(A)scheme iniquity,
Who work out evil on their beds!
^[a](B)When morning comes, they do it,
For it is in the ^(C)power of their hands.
