¹² “The one who conquers I will make a pillar^(A) in the temple of my God, and he will never go out again. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God—the new Jerusalem,^(B) which comes down out of heaven from my God—and my new name.^(C)

The Two Witnesses

11 Then I was given a measuring reed^(A) like a rod,^[a] with these words: “Go^[b] and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count those who worship there.

² But exclude the courtyard outside the temple.^(A) Don’t measure it, because it is given to the nations,^[a](B) and they will trample the holy city^(C) for forty-two months.^(D)

¹⁹ Then the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant^[a] appeared in his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder,^(A) an earthquake,^[b] and severe hail.

¹⁵ Another angel came out of the temple, crying out in a loud voice to the one who was seated on the cloud, “Use your sickle and reap, for the time to reap has come, since the harvest of the earth is ripe.”^(A)
