Pleasing Others, Not Ourselves

15 Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength,^(A) and not to please ourselves.

⁹ But be careful that this right of yours in no way becomes a stumbling block^(A) to the weak. ¹⁰ For if someone sees you, the one who has this knowledge, dining in an idol’s temple, won’t his weak conscience be encouraged to eat food offered to idols? ¹¹ Then the weak person, the brother for whom Christ died,^(B) is ruined^[a](C) by your knowledge.^(D)

²² To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.^(A)
