40 (A)Awo Mukama n’agamba Yobu nti,
2 “Oyo anoonya okuyombera ebitaliimu anaayombesa Ayinzabyonna?
Oyo aleeta empaka ku Katonda, amuddemu.”
3 Awo Yobu n’addamu Mukama nti,
4 (B)“Laba, sisaanidde, kiki kye nnaakuddamu?
Emimwa kangibikkeko n’engalo.
5 (C)Njogedde omulundi gumu, so siddemu;
weewaawo emirundi ebiri sseeyongere mulundi mulala.”
6 (D)Awo Mukama ng’ali mu muyaga ogw’amaanyi n’addamu Yobu nti,
7 (E)“Weesibe engoye zo onywere ng’omusajja.
Ka nkubuuze,
naawe onziremu.
8 (F)“Onojjulula ensala yange ey’emisango;
ononsingisa omusango ggwe atuukiridde?
9 (G)Olina omukono ng’ogwa Katonda,
eddoboozi lyo lisobola okubwatuka ng’erirye?
10 (H)Kale nno yambala ekitiibwa n’obukulu
weesibe ekitiibwa n’okusukkuluma osukkulume.
11 (I)Yolesa obusungu bw’ekiruyi kyo
otunuulire buli wa malala omusse wansi.
12 (J)Tunuulira buli musajja ow’amalala omukkakkanye
era olinnyirire abakozi b’ebibi obabetentere we bali.
13 Bonna baziikire wamu mu nfuufu,
emitwe gyabwe ogibikkire mu ntaana.
14 (K)Nange kennyini ndyoke nzikirize,
ng’omukono gwo ogwa ddyo, gusobola okukuwa amaanyi.”

15 “Laba ekisolo ekyefaananyiriza ng’envubu
kye natonda nga ggwe,
erya omuddo ng’ente,
16 nga kirina amaanyi mayitirivu mu kiwato kyakyo
amaanyi mangi mu binywa by’olubuto lwakyo.
17 Kiwuuba omukira gwakyo ne guba ng’omukira gw’omuvule
Ebinywa by’ebisambi byakyo byakwatagana nnyo.
18 Amagumba gaakyo gali ng’enseke ez’ebikomo;
amagulu n’emikono ng’emitayimbwa.
19 (L)Kibalibwa mu bitonde bya Katonda ebisooka,
ate nga Katonda eyakitonda asobola okukisemberera n’ekitala kye.
20 (M)Weewaawo ensozi zikireetera emmere,
eyo ku nsozi, ensolo ez’omu nsiko zonna gye zizannyira.
21 Wansi w’ebisiikirize by’emiti egy’amaggwa, we kyebaka,
ne kyekweka mu bitoogo ne mu bitosi.
22 (N)Ebisiikirize by’emiti bikibikkako,
emiti egiri ku mabbali g’omugga ne gikibikkako.
23 Laba omugga ne bwe gusiikuuka tekyekanga;
kiba kinywevu, Yoludaani ne bwajjula n’abooga.
24 (O)Eriyo omuntu yenna ayinza okukikwata,
oba okuyuza ennyindo yaakyo n’akasaale?”

40 The Lord said to Job:(A)
2 “Will the one who contends with the Almighty(B) correct him?(C)
Let him who accuses God answer him!”(D)
3 Then Job answered the Lord:
4 “I am unworthy(E)—how can I reply to you?
I put my hand over my mouth.(F)
5 I spoke once, but I have no answer(G)—
twice, but I will say no more.”(H)
6 Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm:(I)
7 “Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.(J)
8 “Would you discredit my justice?(K)
Would you condemn me to justify yourself?(L)
9 Do you have an arm like God’s,(M)
and can your voice(N) thunder like his?(O)
10 Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor,
and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.(P)
11 Unleash the fury of your wrath,(Q)
look at all who are proud and bring them low,(R)
12 look at all who are proud(S) and humble them,(T)
crush(U) the wicked where they stand.
13 Bury them all in the dust together;(V)
shroud their faces in the grave.(W)
14 Then I myself will admit to you
that your own right hand can save you.(X)
15 “Look at Behemoth,
which I made(Y) along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.(Z)
16 What strength(AA) it has in its loins,
what power in the muscles of its belly!(AB)
17 Its tail sways like a cedar;
the sinews of its thighs are close-knit.(AC)
18 Its bones are tubes of bronze,
its limbs(AD) like rods of iron.(AE)
19 It ranks first among the works of God,(AF)
yet its Maker(AG) can approach it with his sword.(AH)
20 The hills bring it their produce,(AI)
and all the wild animals play(AJ) nearby.(AK)
21 Under the lotus plants it lies,
hidden among the reeds(AL) in the marsh.(AM)
22 The lotuses conceal it in their shadow;
the poplars by the stream(AN) surround it.
23 A raging river(AO) does not alarm it;
it is secure, though the Jordan(AP) should surge against its mouth.
24 Can anyone capture it by the eyes,
or trap it and pierce its nose?(AQ)
