And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship him.”

Herod Kills the Children

Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men.

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles

These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans,

Rewards

“Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.

Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples

And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent word around to all that region and brought to him all who were sick

He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

After agreeing with the labourers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

The Triumphal Entry

Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to get his fruit.

Again he sent other servants, more than at first. And they did the same to them.

Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.

Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.’

The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone's opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances.

You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?

Lament over Jerusalem

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not!

Besides, while he was sitting on the judgement seat, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered much because of him today in a dream.”
