  1. So Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut the stones, and they prepared the timbers and the stones to build the house.
  2. And they handed the money which was assessed over to those who did the work, who had the oversight of the house of the Lord; and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on the house of the Lord;

    On the twenty-first of the seventh month, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying,
  13. Jesus *said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone; This came about from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?
  14. Have you not even read this Scripture: ‘A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone;
  15. The Parable of the Builders

    “Now why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?
  16. But Jesus looked at them and said, “Then what is this statement that has been written: ‘A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone’?
  17. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone.
  18. According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it.
  19. For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.
  20. For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.
  21. for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
  22. This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for unbelievers, “A stone which the builders rejected, This became the chief cornerstone,”
