²⁵ I will also bring upon you a sword which will execute ^(A)vengeance for the covenant; and when you gather together into your cities, I will send ^(B)pestilence among you, so that you shall be delivered into enemy hands.

¹² One third of you will die by ^(A)plague or be consumed by famine among you, one third will fall by the sword around you, and one third I will ^(B)scatter to every wind, and I will ^(C)unsheathe a sword behind them.

³ and say to the land of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Behold, ^(A)I am against you; and I will draw My sword out of its sheath and cut off from you the ^(B)righteous and the wicked. ⁴ Because I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore My sword will go forth from its sheath against ^(C)all flesh from south to north.
