  11. God Leads the People

    Now when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was near; for God said, “The people might change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.”
  12. He also said to the people, “Be ready for the third day; do not go near a woman.”
  13. You shall put this altar in front of the veil that is near the ark of the testimony, in front of the atoning cover that is over the ark of the testimony, where I will meet with you.

  21. Then Moses said to Aaron, “It is what the Lord spoke, saying, ‘By those who come near Me I will be treated as holy, And before all the people I will be honored.’” So Aaron, therefore, kept silent.
  22. except for his relatives who are nearest to him, his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, and his brother,
  23. also for his virgin sister who is near to him because she has not had a husband; for her, he may defile himself.
  24. So when the tabernacle is to move on, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up. But the layman who comes near it shall be put to death.
  25. So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons that they may keep their priesthood, but the layman who comes near shall be put to death.”
