Parable of the Fig Tree
“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: as soon as its branch has become tender and sprouts its leaves, you know that summer is near;
-
so you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.

And He said, “Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is near; I am keeping the Passover at your house with My disciples.”’”

Get up, let’s go; behold, the one who is betraying Me is near!”
-
He *said to them, “Let’s go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may also preach there; for this is why I came.”
-
And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer space, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them.

Now there was a large herd of pigs feeding nearby on the mountain.

The Triumphal Entry
And as they *approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, He *sent two of His disciples,

So you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that He is near, right at the door.

Get up, let’s go; behold, the one who is betraying Me is near!”

And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.

and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

‘Even the dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off in protest against you; yet be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near.’

The Lost Sheep
Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near Jesus to listen to Him.

Now while they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.

And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,

And He said, “See to it that you are not misled; for many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not go after them.

“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.
-
But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

as soon as they put forth leaves, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near.
